Door Thresholds and their purpose
Thresholds, also knows as sills, are a sealing product usually made of wood or metal. In order to keep doors weather-tight they are installed to a floor beneath the door. Thresholds were created to prevent snow, rain, or air from entering your business or home.
Thresholds are paired with weather-stripping to provide complete gap closure. This means that all your cold air can stay inside in the summer, while the hot air remains outside.
There are two main types of thresholds:
Saddle – this threshold holds the shape of a “U” that is placed upside-down over the bottom of the door.
Panic Variety – have a J-shape look that allows it to lock to another hook that’s attached to the door.
We spend a lot of money trying to keep our businesses cold in the summer and hot in the winter; wouldn’t it be a shame to let it go to waste? Our office is available to answer your inquiries to ensure your doors are sealed tightly from all weather conditions. Call us at 416 629 5636 or email us at keymaxinc@gmail.com–we look forward to hearing from you!
